Read and initial the following variations from routine spays/neuters:- Pain Management- Due to the voucher/discounted spay/neuter program pricing, animals will receive ORAL pain management. This is different from regular client-owned animals who receive injectable pain medication which has a faster onset of action.
- Intravenous Catheters- Animals who are receiving a discounted procedure will not receive an intravenous catheter. This has an increased risk to the patient during surgery as certain medications cannot be given quickly and efficiently if problems arise.
- Anesthesia- Animals under this program will receive a total injectable anesthesia. The drugs used have increased risks for side effect such as: vomiting and aspiration, low blood pressure, low heart rate, etc.
